It depends from what u have already done?

I would reccomend get Unity, create basic terrain - sometin really SIMPLE.Add player model , gun script , controller etc.And than think about type of game u want.

...or the Build n' Shoot, it would be unique idea and a really fun multiplayer game if you manage to intergrate the build-part smoothly into the basic FPS.

Good luck with your project, I know how though programming can sometimes be!

There's nothing childish about blowing a zombie's head off with a shotgun, maybe sadistic, but not childish.

Some people don't realize the difference between a FPS Simulator (realistic FPS,) and a FPS Shooter. (BFBC, COD.) Okay, a FPS Shooter is based just to let players have as much fun as possible, meaning that the guns have different accuracy/damage/weight/firing rate than in real life. A simulator copies those same specifications from real life, so it is in fact, realistic. May I add, that in simulators the maps are MUCH larger, because in real war the battlefield is giant. The maps would have to be at least 25 times larger than current BeGone maps, at minimum. As a final note, a FPS Simulator would appeal to a smaller audience, because of the maps being so big, players would have to have pretty high-spec computers. That is all.
