Welcome to the BeGone Brotherhood Community!

It is our Mission to provide:
a forum where gamers can share thoughts about BeGone
a forum that is constructive, instructional and beneficial to both the gaming community and the developers of BeGone
an environment where members can feel safe in expressing themselves without fear of prejudice on the basis of age, race or gender
an online meeting place for likeminded individuals, who enjoy the company of fellow gamers

BeGone Brotherhood - Code Of Conduct

Forum
The Forum incorporates all sections of the BeGone Brotherhood, where communication is carried out via posting in topics. With the exception of individual clan sub-forums, all information within these sections are public and therefore viewable by anyone.

It is expected that members are polite and respectful when posting in the public forum.

Necroing - Posting in 'dead' topics

Chatbox
The Chatbox is an instant messaging system which is located at the bottom of the main page of the BeGone Brotherhood forum. When logged in, members can chat to other members in real time. This feature is only available to registered members of the forum.

It is expected that members conduct themselves in a polite and respectable manner when messaging in the Chatbox.
Messages that should be avoided within the Chatbox include:
Trolling - Annoying people on purpose
Spamming - Large number of messages that do not add to the conversation
Sexist or Racist - Discrimination on the basis of gender or race
Bullying - Picking on a member
Harassment - Continuously irritating or tormenting members
Offensive Language - Cursing (See Amendment)
Enhanced Text - Large, italic, bold, coloured or scrolling text within the chat window
Inappropriate content - Posting or linking to disturbing or pornographic images, videos, text, etc.
Hacking & cheating - Encouraging or posting links to BeGone hacks/cheats.
Personal Information - Sharing personal information about BB members without their permission.

What will happen if you break the Code
Administrators, Forum Moderators and Chat Moderators are the 'police' of the BeGone Brotherhood Forum. A Chat Moderator can be recognised by the '@' symbol before their name in the Chatbox userlist. An Administrator or Forum Moderator can be recognised by their red coloured name (a darker red in the case of a Forum Moderator).

Code offences are split into 4 levels which are:
1. Annoying - Unintentional spamming, necroing, chat text effects
2. Disruptive - Intentional spamming, trolling, cursing
3. Offensive - Excessive cursing, bullying, sexism, racism or other discrimination
4. Extreme - Obscene images & text, strong sexism, racism or other discrimination

If you break the code, Admins or Moderators will in most cases:
1. Ask you to stop
2. Ask you to stop again, letting you know you may get kicked or banned if you continue
3. Kick or ban you for a period of time, with a reason why
4. Ban you for an extended period of time, with a reason why
NOTE: Admins and Moderators have the right to kick or ban without warning if the situation calls for it.

If you see someone breaking the code, you may ask them to stop. If they do not, then please report their behaviour to an admin or mod and take a screenshot of what they were doing. The admins and mods will take action from there.

A Message from your Moderators:
You guys are our second family. Our crazy, dysfunctional, second family. We love our family. We also hate you sometimes. But we love you. So please, be patient with us as we stop you from ripping each others' heads off.
Thank you for taking the time to read the Code of Conduct, and we hope that you continue to behave in a way that limits the amount that we need to enforce it.

Offensive Language - Amendment

Post by OmboKing on Fri May 11, 2012 1:21 am

Offensive Language - A Clarification
• Excessive Swearing
• Words that are discriminatory
• Aggressive comments that are directed at another member
It is requested that you do your personal best to limit the amount of swearing/cursing you do in the Forum and ChatBox. A moderator will notify you if your language is offensive, and it is expected that you respect their opinion on the matter.
